How do the diamond targets work?
Take the uphill northwest route near the first monument and drop into the lower clearing after clearing visible Forest Eyes. Throw a dagger into the diamond-shaped opening beside a door. One route opens a shortcut back to the starting area; secure that access first.

Where is the key inside the dungeon?
Enter through the other door near the braziers. The northern room contains the Wooden Club. Continue south, then farther downstairs to the central shrine; the sparkling pickup there is the gate key. Clear approaching Skeletal Fighters before concentrating on the pickup.
Why does the elevator gate say it is too heavy?
Operate the mechanism on the wooden post beside the barred gate rather than repeatedly interacting with the heavy gate itself. The lift returns you to the hillside above the first monument. Save there so a failed shrine fight does not require recovering the key again.
